It seems that the tendency in our culture is to compare ourselves to people who have more. Somehow those of us who are some of the richest in the world don't think we have that much.
I imagine this allows us to lose sight of the many blessings (material and not) that we do have. Which makes it hard to be thankful. And when we are not thankful, I would imagine we are less likely to be generous. A bad cycle.
Maybe that bank ad is right - you ARE richer than you think?
ReplyDeleteI'm in the top 1% of the worlds richest folks, and am rich in many ways besides money - health, happiness, and love for example.
