Attention youth and youth leaders...

An exciting and informative event which will include:
-Stories from returned young adult volunteers and current international volunteers in the IVEP program.
-Soup to Soap - Reaching out in Practical Ways: Material Resources is the arm of MCC that responds to basic human needs. Come and learn how easy it is for you to make a difference...and you will have the opportunity to pack some kits and knot a comforter.
-Refugees and Newcomers:  Overview of the refugee program in Ontario. A quiz. An advocacy video that challenges youth to explore engagement options. Plus a story of a youth group in Colombia that welcomed and gave shelter to a group of displaced people. The actions of that youth group have influenced their church and it's ministries.
-New Hope in Africa:  Engage in a rare opportunity to hear stories and to ask questions of guests from Africa. All of them work for MCC partner organizations that deal with peace and justice issues and struggle with the HIV/AIDS epidemic in the southern countries of Africa. Hear why there are not any easy answers to some of these issues yet, how people loving their neighbours can bring hope for change.
-Enlace: Weaving together service, learning, and fun!:  Sharing and learning about the people and places of Guatemala and El Salvador from our experience with the Enlace, a service program for 16-19 year olds. 
-Restorative Justice
